Meet Samson the Sloth, the heart and soul of the Pathfinder Exploration Community. Samson isn’t your average sloth—he’s a thoughtful adventurer with a mission to inspire the world to slow down and think deeply about the impacts of data, technology, and education. As the Guardian of the community’s principles, Samson protects the values of passion, action, tenacity, and humility, inspiring mindful and ethical action in everything we do.
 

Samson's Origin Story
 

Samson was born high in the lush canopies of a rainforest, where life thrived in balance and harmony. As a young sloth, he spent his days observing the intricate dance of the natural world—the flow of rivers, the migration of birds, and the silent growth of trees. Samson noticed that everything had a role, a purpose, and a reason to exist, working together to sustain the ecosystem. He often wondered, "What’s my role in making the world a better place?"
 

One day, a team of scientists came to the forest, bringing advanced technologies to study the environment. Samson watched as they used drones, GIS tools, and AI models to map the forest and protect endangered species. But he also saw the unintended consequences of these tools—some caused disruption, and others failed to consider the long-term effects on the ecosystem. Samson realized that even good intentions need thoughtful execution.
